Our History

1998
Preferred Flooring began in 1998, when David and Amanda Stophel started installing hardwood flooring in Charlotte, NC.
Soon demand for their services increased as customers appreciated David's craftsmanship, along with Amanda's dedication to customer service.
2001
There was too much work for just the two of them, so they made the commitment to expand and onboard their first subcontractors to support installation of all flooring types.
2002
David and Amanda Stophel signed their first contract with a large retailer, installing only hardwood flooring in Charlotte, NC.
By 2004
Preferred Flooring was one of two remaining installation companies in NC, had opened its first few workrooms, and was running many installation crews across Charlotte and Asheville.
2012
Preferred Flooring became Service Pros of the Carolinas and made the strategic decision to begin installing for Lowe's Home Improvement in store #377 Pineville, NC.
July 2013
Opened the third workroom in Hickory, NC
In the years that followed
Service Pros expanded with Lowe's and opened workrooms in SC, VA, TN, GA, PA, FL, and MD; quickly outgrowing the old company name.
2016
Service Pros of the Carolinas became Service Pros Installation Group.
Through our partnership with Lowe's, we proudly support many charitable endeavors in the communities we serve.
